My name is Rachel Wilson; I am from Ireland and currently living and working in Melbourne.
I am in Australia on a working holiday visa and am looking for qualifying work for my second year visa for a minimum of 3 months.
I have been riding for around ten years. I am very passionate about working with horses. I have previously worked at riding and livery stables in Ireland for 5 years. My duties there were wide ranging including general horse care, riding and leading treks. I would bring various horses in and out to pasture, feed and water them, groom them and tack them up for lessons. I trialled new horses in different situations for the yard owner, for example taking them on a beach ride or jumping cross country to test how they react to different situations. I have ridden young and old horses both finer built thoroughbreds and draught horses. I have experience riding flatwork, dressage, cross country and showjumping. I have never owned my own horse but I am very passionate about working with horses and would love to run my own stables one day.
I have achieved BHS Horse Knowledge and Care stages 1 3; Riding and Road Safety Test; BRC Riding and Horse Welfare stages 1 & 2; throughout my time at the stables. During this I have attended pony camp weeks where I lived at the stables full time. I am a very reliable and honest, self-motivated and hard working person. I work well as part of a team and autonomously.
